The program includes 4 weeks of lecture and hands-on training within the facility. We have the supplies, equipment, and instructors with excellent qualifications that will help you to become an exceptional Phlebotomist. This program's objective is to prepare the student to be able to obtain blood specimens with venipuncture techniques and capillary punctures, classify laboratory tubes, and more.

Students will perform a combination of 40 venipuncture and skin punctures. *All blood draws will be performed on fellow classmates and yourself. Therefore, you must be willing to participate. 

After successful completion of the course, you are eligible to register for the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician National Exam. Testing is done at our location and is a separate fee. *The state of Florida does not license phlebotomists.

 

Program Requirements

• Have a high school diploma/GED 
• Must be 18 years or older at the start of classes

* If you are working on your High School Diploma/GED but want to take the program, you may, however, you will not be able to take the AMCA National Certification Exam until you obtain your High School Diploma/GED.

 

Payment Plan & Fees

We offer a payment plan which requires a non-refundable deposit of $250.00 to reserve your seat. The remaining balance is due by the second week of class. 

 

After successful completion of the Phlebotomy Exam Prep course, you are eligible to register for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician National Exam. Testing is done at our location and is a separate fee of $150. 

You must register 15 days in advance of the scheduled exam date. The registration window will close 14 days before the scheduled exam date. 

After taking the exam you will receive your results in the mail within 15 business days.

Daytime CNA Classes are only 3 days. Classes are held Tuesday – Thursday from 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM.

Evening CNA Classes are only 4 nights. Classes are held Monday – Thursday from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

 Weekend CNA Classes are only 2 days. Classes are held Saturday – Sunday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

 

You may wear any color scrubs and closed-toe shoes. You will receive your class materials on the first day of class.

The BLS Provider Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.

In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

  • After successfully completing the BLS Course, students should be able to:
  • Describe the importance of high-quality CPR and its impact on survival
  • Describe all the steps of the Chain of Survival
  • Apply the BLS concepts of the Chain of Survival
  • Recognize the signs of someone needing CPR
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an adult
  • Describe the importance of early use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Demonstrate the appropriate use of an AED
  • Provide effective ventilation using a barrier device
  • Perform high-quality CPR for a child
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an infant
  • Describe the importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation
  • Perform as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
  • Describe the technique for relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for an adult or child
  • Describe the technique for relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for an infant

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid; choking relief in adults, children, and infants; and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants.

This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills.

After successfully completing this course, students should be able to:

  • List the priorities, roles, and responsibilities of first aid rescuers
  • Describe the key steps in first aid
  • Remove protective gloves
  • Find the problem
  • Describe the assessment and first aid actions for the following life-threatening conditions: heart attack, difficulty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, shock, and stroke
  • Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child
  • Demonstrate how to help a choking infant
  • Use an epinephrine pen
  • Control bleeding and bandaging
  • Recognize elements of common injuries
  • Recognize elements of common illnesses
  • Describe how to find information on preventing illness and injury
  • Recognize the legal questions that apply to first aid rescuers
  • Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival
  • Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival
  • Recognize when someone needs CPR
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an adult
  • Describe how to perform CPR with help from others
  • Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult
  • Perform high-quality CPR for a child
  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on a child
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an infant
  • Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child
  • Demonstrate how to help a choking infant
